What We Do For You

On September 19, 1991 approximately 150 of our neighbors met at St. Anne's Church. The vote was unanimous to form our West Paces/Northside Neighborhood Association.

The boundaries of the association were established as follows:

The south side of Northside Parkway from south of West Paces Ferry to the north side of Moores Mill Road. The eastern boundary is Northside Drive between Moores Mill and West Paces Ferry. The northern boundary is West Paces Ferry from Moores Mill to Northside Parkway. [See map and boundaries].

The association was established to promote the following common interests:

  • Increase neighborhood security.
  • Decrease crime.
  • Keep an eye on zoning matters to protect our property interests.
  • Coordinate our services with elected officials in city and county matters.
  • Promote better traffic control within our neighborhood.
  • To get to know our neighbors through newsletters and meetings.

On October 9, 1991 a Security Task Force was formed and a strategy to improve overall security, for our neighborhood, was developed. Since that time we have been able to have our own security patrol, who are local police officers working off duty, patrolling our neighborhood on a regular and frequent basis. We need and appreciate their presence!

In addition, individuals have agreed to serve as Block Captains for our individual streets. They work with the Security Committee to Coordinate a Neighborhood Watch Program and act as a point-of-contact for communication for our Association activities and our individual streets. Also, we are represented in the Crime and Public Safety Committee of NPU-A (our local Neighborhood Planning Unit than includes 18 neighborhoods).

Below is a long list of the accomplishments made in concert with Neighborhood Planning Unit A (NPU-A), of which we are a part of — see list of accomplishments!

Additionally we are part of The Neighborhood Associations within Council Districts 7 and 8 and have formed a grass root organization dedicated to assessing and supporting citywide candidates best qualified to hold office:

PARTNERSHIP FOR BETTER GOVERNMENT!

AND…if it were not for our Association we would not have the 4th of July Parade, the Halloween Parade or…….THE NEWSLETTER.

The best support you can give YOUR ASSOCIATION is to ATTEND MEETINGS and PAY YOUR DUES!!
