Neighborhood Beautification Project

WPNNA Kicks Off New Program

WPNNA is proud to announce the adoption of a Neighborhood Beautification Program, which will be self-funding. The primary purpose of WPNNA is to provide security for its membership. In an effort to expand its community services, the Board is moving forward with beautification projects submitted by its membership that will be handled by a Special Projects Committee.

All WPNNA members are encouraged to participate in this program. The results will be an improved neighborhood of which we can all be proud. Don't delay, provide your project ideas now. Here are some details.

  • The WPNNA will set aside approximately $3,000 per year, which primarily will be funded by the sale of advertisements appearing in our newsletter.

  • Neighbors may apply for grants, with the expectation that most will be focused on the upgrade of common areas of our WPNNA, which include street entrances, unkempt areas contiguous to neighborhood border, and cul-de-sac centers.

  • Proposal Process: Applicant (membership in WPNNA is a requirement) will propose budget for a specific project related to common area development. Project will be submitted to the Special Projects Committee for approval or rejection.

  • Approval Process:

    • Once approved by the Committee, the project will be forwarded to the Board for approval or rejection. Applicant will be invited to attend committee meeting as well as subsequent board meeting in order to provide clarification, if necessary. The total grant for any single project will not exceed $500. Once approved, the Applicant will be responsible for implementation of the project. Upon completion of the project, Applicant will submit invoice for reimbursement of expenses with appropriate documentation. Board members may apply for a grant. Board member will excuse himself/herself from voting upon their application.

    • Projects will be evaluated as received. The budget process allows for a total of six projects per year if all projects ask for the maximum amount possible (Six times $500 equals $3,000, which is our total budget). If fund is exhausted prior to the end of year, remaining applications will be evaluated for participation in the grant program for the following calendar year.

  • A grant application may be accessed by clicking here [application].
